Sr. AccountantJob DescriptionThis position requires you to work a Hybrid schedule, in the Murrieta, CA office 2-3 days a week.Job SummaryAs Sr. Accountant, you will assist the Director of Accounting with the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Month-end Close responsibilities, including journal entries, reconciling workpapers, variance analysis research, and Ad Hoc projectsManage and update daily cash activityManage Fixed Assets, entries, reconciliations, and analysisMonthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts providing analysis and recommendations when necessaryReconciliation between vendor charges and customer or account validation, working with department leaders, as necessarySales and Use Tax Subject Matter ExpertEnsure proper filing and reporting of sales and use tax as scheduled; reconcile and maintain data integrity between Avalara and SageAssist with various tax related reporting and notificationsAssist with state registrations and annual reports through CT AdvantageProvide support and document preparation for external audit(s)Support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) with audits and troubleshootingAssist with process improvement in day-to-day operations and department workflow optimizationOther duties as assigned by managementPosition Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or Business Administration.5-10 years of experience in accountingAdvanced Excel user, requiredStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsGood communication skills (verbal, written and listening)Ability to switch from complex to routine tasks when requiredExperience using Sage Intacct, Salesforce, in a corporate environment, preferredSoftware as a Service (SaaS) experience, preferredPhysical/Mental Requirements for the Job:Prolonged periods of sittingMay be requested to work overtime and weekends if deemed necessaryMust be able to lift at least 20 poundsCertain management positions might be required to occasional travel
