Job Description Job Description Job Summary: Must be proficient in performing work tasks in the company office as directed by Management. Essential Functions: Prepares bids by gathering information through reading of blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Computes project pricing by procurement of material costs with labor and time requirements. Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information. Procure, order and schedule plant and materials once project is set to start. Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printers. Occasional construction site visits for estimating projects (uneven ground; therefore, wearing proper foot attire would be required) Qualifications: Minimum 5 year experience in reading landscape/hardscape plans and doing takeoffs CAD experience preferred Must be proficient in reading landscape construction documents and plans Must be proficient at reading engineering/structural details for walls, footings, columns, pools, etc Must possess a solid knowledge of construction materials Proficient in MS Excel, Numbers and Word Being able to work on several projects at a time Ability to work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Resourcefulness, especially in obtaining quotes from various material suppliers Ability to work both independently and as part of a team as needed Ability to take direction from team members as needed Bilingual - Fluent English and Spanish - speaking and understanding Non-Essential Functions: Mac experience a plus Job Specifications: Non-exempt position Work Schedule: Monday through Friday This position reports directly to Management Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
