JOB SUMMARY / OVERVIEW
The Reliability Engineer has the overall responsibility for establishing the reliability of Natgasoline assets at optimal cost. This position will identify, prioritize, and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. Oversee technical expertise & advice on maintenance services and exercise leadership towards timely identification and resolution of equipment-related issues or problems. The Reliability Engineer recognizes and acts on opportunities to ensure and improve safe, reliable, and cost-efficient plant operations.
This role requires diverse knowledge and experience in maintenance, engineering, proactive maintenance system development, project management, and failure mode detection and associated techniques and technologies. The reliability engineer will also facilitate RCFA process when needed and required follow-up.
The position is accountable for participating in our overall reliability strategy that includes: long/short term objectives, reliability engineering, mechanical integrity management interaction (PSM), predictive & preventive maintenance plans and strategies, input/guidance on budget & cost control (OPEX / CAPEX), directing maintenance & contractor activity oversight (repair/overhaul), contractor strategy & performance input, spare parts recommendations, equipment data management, and mentorship to employees concerning equipment reliability.
This role will have responsibility for detailed metric reporting and subsequent action plan development and facilitation of required corrective actions. The reliability engineer will also support asset health dashboard development and refinement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

--- Oversee plant equipment reliability procedures that focus on employee safety guided by equipment industry best practices.
--- Provides input on work prioritization on plant equipment repairs to meet site objectives and goals.
--- Provide input regarding Mechanical Integrity from the team for fixed, rotating, instrument, and electrical disciplines concerning plant PSM requirements.
--- Provide technical support to Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Inspection, Process, and Project personnel regarding selection, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and long-term reliability of plant equipment.
--- Provide leadership on equipment failure investigations to determine casual effects and make mitigation recommendations.
--- Lead team effort for the continuous improvement of equipment reliability through the development and application of effective reliability strategies such as risk-based maintenance strategies, identification & assessment of risks, root cause and bad actor analysis, and spare parts reviews.
--- Provide input on new Capex and other projects during inception to support reliable installation, operation, and maintenance throughout the asset life cycle.
--- Support identifying optimal life-cycle cost of existing assets.
--- Provide team input on the final check-out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.
--- Lead RCA/RCFA investigations on premature equipment failures as needed.
--- Lead team equipment capabilities to partner with equipment vendors and repair shops to resolve technical issues or complex equipment repairs.
--- Work with the maintenance department to develop contact lists and relationships for turnaround contractors and repairs facilities.
--- Provide input on Operation Procedures concerning proper startup and shutdown of equipment.
--- Provide input on operation envelope (parameter) on equipment.
--- Present a professional image at all times to clients and vendors and maintain a positive reputation for the company.
--- Follow all relevant company policies and procedures.
--- Assists other Departments and other administrative personnel, as necessary.
--- Perform other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS
--- None required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR TRAINING
--- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
--- Minimum ten (10) years engineering experience in the industry required.
--- Familiar with predictive technologies and methods (such as lubrication analysis, motor analysis, vibration analysis, or ultrasonic detection, etc.) preferred.

--- Computerized Maintenance Management Systems, or Enterprise Asset Management systems, and used for reporting and analysis of history.
PHYSICAL
--- Ability to lift over 20 lbs. occasionally.
--- Ability to sit for prolonged amounts of time required.
--- Ability to effectively communicate through various means required.
ENVIRONMENTAL
--- Some work is performed within an office environment, including office equipment - such as computers, telephones, and copiers.
--- Requires passing by industrial equipment on the way to the office.
--- Noise levels are typically moderate.
WORK SCHEDULE
--- Regular 40-hour work week, normal duty hours as assigned
--- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
--- May work longer hours to meet deadlines as necessary or to support facility emergencies
--- Will be on periodic weekly call rotation
TRAVEL
--- Less than 10% of the time.
