About The RoleAs the Director, Indirect Sourcing & Global Travel
you will drive competitive business advantage by implementing
innovative strategies for cost reduction, quality, and delivery
across the corporations non-production expenditures for goods and
services totaling $500M annually across indirect spend, real
estate, fleet, travel, and business services categories. This
position is virtual though preferably located at or near one of EAS
Operating Company sites.Your ExperienceIn this role, you will have
the opportunity to:
- Drive strategic and tactical solutions by providing decision
support data/materials (market data, financial analysis) with a
vision of total cost management.
- Strong vendor management skills including contracting, metrics,
issue resolution, budget management, and driving continuous
improvement to leverage EAS volume and discounts while establishing
supplier performance data requirements and reporting monthly
performance data to users in operating companies.
- Lead integration of new acquisitions in coordination with and
according to the global or regional commodity strategies with
commodity leaders. Train acquisition associates on sourcing tools,
best practices, and standard processes.
- Strength as a collaborator, communicator, and team player to
operate effectively in a team setting and build strong
relationships with co-workers.
- Lead the selection of preferred suppliers in targeted spend
categories and manage their performance to ensure they consistently
meet operating companies requirements. Increase the spend with
P&Q and drive global contract agreements. Drive usage of EAS
preferred suppliers with new acquisitions and in targeted spend
categories.
- Prepare and execute corporate-wide bid packages utilizing RFIs,
RFPs, and reverse auctions.
- Evaluate marketplace trends and provide price and budget
guidance to operating companies for targeted spend or
transportation mode categories.Your AttributesThe essential
requirements of the job include:
- Continuous improvement mentality to analyze, translate,
determine root causes, develop action plans, and implement plan of
action as necessary.
- Strength as a communicator and team player, you need to be well
versed in the details but capable of communicating to all levels of
the organization the goal setting, metrics, and results to
establish a strong sense of responsibility, accountability, and
enthusiasm among the teams.
- Experience managing direct and indirect reports in a
decentralized and matrixed environment.
- Strong leadership with the ability to inter-act, influence and
advise senior company leadership and to challenge current practices
and ways of thinking about the operation of the organization and
encourage innovation.
- Ability to work comfortably in ambiguous situations, know how
to resolve conflicts and have a proven track record of achieving
results.
- BS or BA Degree in relevant area such as supply chain, business
management, operations, or finance.
- Justified progressive leadership experience (10+ years)
delivering year-over-year improvements in global indirect spend,
service levels and client satisfaction. Direct experience managing
business services (legal, HR, marketing, accounting, consulting),
IT, MRO, fleet, travel, and real estate. Travel
