Job Summary:
Preparesdietary information for use by kitchen personnel in
preparation of foods forlong term care residents by performing the
following duties:
Essential Functions:
Writes up menus for every resident with the appropriatediet.
Ensuresmenus have appropriate diet listed for each resident.
Ensureseach resident able to complete own menu is allowed to do
so.
Housemarks menus using likes/dislikes.
Talliesquantities of specific foods, such as vegetables and meats,
to be prepared inkitchen.
Markstally on master menu to inform kitchen personnel of food
requirements.
Processesnew diets and changes as required.
Processesroom changes as needed.
Ensureseach residents' food preferences are adhered to.
Separates both skilled and assisted menus
Keeps the Kardex up to date
On days when diet clerk is off gets menus from all residentsand
tallies food quantities for the next day
Visits with residents in their rooms and have the ability toproblem
solve and remain focused and calm in stressful situations
Qualifications:
Ability to manage difficult or emotional resident situations and
responds promptlyto resident needs
Have a special interest in caring for residents in a longterm care
setting.
Must have knowledge of therapeutic diets, Mechanicallyaltered
diets, general nutrition knowledge
Ablity to read write andunderstand English.
6 mos experience in a Long Term Care Facility preferred
